FA SAFEGUARDING PRINCIPLES AT WOKING WOLVES FOOTBALL CLUB

At Woking Wolves Football Club, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all our players, coaches, volunteers, and their families. As a proud Disability Football For All (DFA) club, we adhere to the highest standards of safeguarding as outlined by the Football Association (FA). Our safeguarding principles ensure that everyone involved in our club can enjoy football in a secure and positive setting.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

The safety and wellbeing of our players are our top priorities. We implement comprehensive safeguarding policies and procedures to protect all members of our community, particularly children and vulnerable adults. These policies are regularly reviewed and updated to meet the latest FA guidelines and best practices in safeguarding.

TRAINED AND VETTED STAFF

All coaches, and volunteers at Woking Wolves undergo rigorous background checks, including Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, to ensure their suitability to work with vulnerable groups. Additionally, they receive training in safeguarding and child protection to equip them with the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to any concerns appropriately.

CLEAR REPORTING PROCEDURES

We have established clear and accessible reporting procedures for any safeguarding concerns. One of our Wellbeing Officers will always be available to listen and act on any issues raised, ensuring swift and effective resolution. We encourage an open culture where players, parents, and volunteers feel confident to speak up about any worries or incidents.

PROMOTING A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT

Woking Wolves is dedicated to fostering a positive and respectful environment both on and off the pitch. We promote values of fairness, respect, and inclusivity, ensuring that every member of our club feels valued and included. Bullying, discrimination, and any form of abuse are not tolerated, and we take proactive steps to prevent such behaviors.

INCLUSIVE PRACTICES

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. Our safeguarding policies are designed to address the specific needs of players with disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support and adjustments to participate fully and safely in football activities. We work closely with players and their families to understand and meet individual needs.

ENGAGING WITH THE COMMUNITY

We believe in the power of community and the importance of working together to safeguard our players. Woking Wolves actively engages with parents and guardians, and the community to promote awareness of safeguarding issues and encourage collective responsibility. Regular communication channels ensure that everyone is informed and involved.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Safeguarding is an ongoing commitment, and we are dedicated to continuous improvement in this area. We regularly review our policies, procedures, and practices to ensure they remain effective and up-to-date. Feedback from players, parents, and volunteers is invaluable in helping us enhance our safeguarding measures.
