The 2025 AGM was held after training

Here is a summary of the 2025 Woking Wolves AGM held on Saturday 6th September.


Present: Chris Donovan (Secretary, in the Chair), Matt Roberts (Treasurer) and 28 Members including 3 by proxy.

 

Activities for the Forthcoming Season

The Secretary reported that for 2025/26 the Club would continue to hold the following activities:

  • Weekly training on Saturday mornings at Knaphill Lower School

  • Compete in the Surrey Football For All League tournaments at Walton-on-Thames

  • Host its own Jamie Elgar Tournament, which had unfortunately had to be postponed for the 2024/25 season

  • Hold social events to enable and support the social development of the players.

 

Finance

Full details of the financials of the club were presented, and are available on request.

 

Committee Elections

Prior to the elections the Secretary expressed special thanks to Ben Roberts and Kieran Day, adult players serving as tournament coaches for the junior teams. The meeting applauded their contributions.

Peter Hunt was acknowledged for 7-8 years of contribution having recently concluded his involvement with the Club.

With single nominations having been received for each role, voting was held by a show of hands for each role. The following were elected to the Club’s Committee:

 

  • Nick Elgar elected as Honorary Life President in recognition of 12 years of dedication as chair; and Ordinary Committee Member

  • Matt Roberts elected as new Chairperson, transitioning from 12 years as Treasurer.

  • Natalie Cronin elected as new Treasurer, joining the committee.

  • Jit Patel elected as Secretary.

  • Chris Donovan elected as Chief Welfare Officer.

  • Scott Hardy elected as Junior Welfare Officer.

  • Julia Roberts re-elected as Player Registration Officer.

  • Matt Cronin elected as Communications Officer.

  • Nycki Day re-elected as Social Media Officer.

  • Roman Sierankowski elected as Ordinary Committee Member

  • Martin Meigan elected as Ordinary Committee Member.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Following the meeting, Scott Hardy resigned as Junior Welfare Officer to focus his efforts on coaching. He will remain as an Ordinary Committee Member. Matt Cronin will, as previously, hold the role of Junior Welfare Officer and the Communications Officer role.

 

Closing Remarks

The Chairperson, Matt Roberts highlighted the Club’s evolution from 10-12 players in 2013 when separating from Woking Football Club to the current large and developing Club; and celebrated the Club now having a  permanent home after 11 years of training at the Loop Road facility.

The Chief Walfare Officer, Chris Donovan emphasised the Club's purpose to support young people with challenges in mainstream environments; and the core values to focus on mutual respect, support for both football and life development, and shared goals among players and families.
